Music From Greer...Strings with classic piano on June 28, 2008, Wind Quintet & Classical Piano on July 11 & 12; Classical Piano on July 13; String Quartet & Classical Piano on July 18 & 19 and a Special One Night Event on August 9th - The Ragel Family Community Center - Greer.

It is with great enthusiasm that I write to tell you about the 7th annual concert series, Music from Greer.  Mark your calendars and plan your vacation around the weekends in June, July and August when you will once again be treated to beautiful music – Music With Altitude – in our charming village of Greer in the White Mountains.

Music from Greer, founded in 2002 by Charlie and Mary Bast, has evolved from its beginnings in the dining room at Kattle Kate’s, to big tents on Main Street, and now, to the Ragel Family Community Center.  Musically, this remarkable event has grown from a one-week festival to multiple weekend performances.  In addition to concerts performed by our favorite professionals, this year, Music from Greer will offer entertainment by talented youthful musicians.

Music from Greer has not only given enjoyment to residents and visitors in Greer, it has provided inspiration to young musicians.  As a way of showing his appreciation for the influence of Music from Greer on his lift, Kyle Malkin will present the first musical event of the year.  Kyle was brought to Music from Greer many times by his grandfather, David Malkin of Pinetop.  While still in high school, Kyle composed a symphony of which one movement was performed by the Phoenix Symphony with Kyle conducting.  He is finishing his freshman year at USC where he is studying with the goal of composing music for films.  This June 28 special event is co-sponsored by the Greer Facilities Association and Music from Greer.
